The Mark Of Athena

So for those of you who don't know The Mark of Athena is the 3rd book in the Heroes of Olympus series which continues the Percy Jackson series another series of books by Rich Riordan. Anyway I about 1/3 of the way through and it is really cool it is everything i would expect from a this series. This book is funny, action packed, mysterious, and really suspenseful.
In this books there are 7 main characters; Percy, Jason, Annabeth, Piper, Leo, Frank, and Hazel. They are on a quest to find the Mark of Athena that will hopefully help unite the citizens of New Rome (Camp Jupiter/a.k.a Romans) and Camp Half-Blood (a.k.a the Greeks) who have been fighting for centuries. It is a race against time because Gaea and her evil forces are working to destroy the world .

That is as much as I can tell you without putting in any spoilers. My advice to you if you haven't read the past book and read the first book in the Percy Jackson series. I hope you think its as good as i do.

Last Post of the Tri

I want to start off by saying thanks to the handful of people who actually read my stuff because I know I’m not that good at writing and I do believe it or not struggle with things in my writing. One of the things that I struggled with the most and am struggling with right now as I’m writing this is taking what I know is in my head and putting it on paper. It’s a problem that I’m sure that most people struggle with and I know that it can really impact a person’s writing, or they may just not write at all.

My Best Blog post was probably my post about a book called Insurgent it’s a sequel to the book Divergent. The reason I think that it is my best post is because compared to my first post or ones later on it can show how much my writing has changed and over time how my problem has shrunken.
Goals that I have for my next Tri are to over come the problem I mentioned in the first paragraph. to read a few more books that I haven't read. Start a new series and get. Continue some  series that I have started.

Gone!

I know I'm already reading a book but I couldn't help reading the summery of Gone By Micheal Grant which can be found here. A book that sounds absolutely awesome. Anyway the book is about how all adult disappear and the only people left on earth are teens, kids, toddlers which I'm not going to lie sounds like paradise. But as we all know its not and the bullies and rich kids take over. But it doesn't stop there oh no there is more; animals are mutating and the kids day by day are gaining powers and special ability's that make the power struggle worse. Oh wait you thought that was it well your wrong again because on your birthday you disappear just like all the others. And I know after hearing that your already trying to order the book well good for you but I have to finish my book Insurgant but when I'm done this is the first thing I'm picking up.

One Choice Can Destroy You

I FINALLY got my hands on the book Insurgent by Veronica Roth and I cant pick it up. I opened it and got to page 19 before I stopped. I want to just dive into the book band immerse myself in the world of the Divergent books but I cant figure out whats holding me back. I think its because its been while since I read the first book but I have never had a problem with that before. I also think I'm using my phone to distract me from the book because when my parents take my phone I can plow through a 4-5 hundred page book in a weekend. I'm getting a little mad with myself. I think this weekend I'm going to fut down my phone and just crack it open. I really hope its as amassing as the first.

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS
Oct. 29, 2013
I have read a little more into the book and its every thing that I hoped it would be. Here's a quick summery; Tris, Tobias, Caleb and the other Abnegation survives fled to the Amity home base for refuge. while there they rest and recover for the most part before the Erudite come looking and they are forced to spit up. after the Erudite attack at Amity, Tris, Tobias, Caleb, and Susan get on the train and see Edward, (a character from the last book), who takes them to the frictionless where they are now and where I last left off.

I know allot to take in so I'm going to continue reading see you next time
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On Sunday morning i finished my book and it surprised me in a way that i had thought it would. So to summarise the ending Tris has to make a decision (I know another choice) to help the Doubtless and faction less attack the Erudite or to help Marcus and retrieve the information the Erudite stole. When she chooses to help Marcus she makes her way to the Amity head Quarters where she convinces some to help delay the violence long enough to sneak into the Erudite facility and steal the information back. during her plan she is caught by Tobias and imprisoned. in the end Tobias realizes that she is right and broadcasts the information which turned out to be a video about the big truth.
The video of a woman named Amanda tells that their society was formed to separate a city of people from the world completely because of a growing disease "human nature". The society was created by volunteers who would lose their memory and replace it with a new one so that people could live without war. At the end of the video Amanda reveals what her new identity will be in the new society; her new name would be Evelyn Prior. And that is where the book ends.
New Study On The Eye
A new study on the eyes of small animals shows that they can process visual information faster than humans can. So from their visual perspective they can see larger animals moving in slow motion. This adaptation help the small animal evade its attacker or attackers. Animals with this ability are golden mantled ground squirrels and pigeons. Some humans can somewhat see in this way as well. Athletes can process visual information faster than non-athletes. The same is true for young people who can get the information faster than the old.
 You might be wondering how the measured this. Well the scientist used a technique called critical flicker fusion frequency to measure the speed at which the eye processes light. Taking the results and putting them on a graph showed that it also had to do with the body size as well.
An Artical I Read About Syria
There has been a lot of talk about this issue, and a lot of people don't know how real it is. in Syria there is a Civil war going on between the people and the Syrian government. The war started 2 years ago when citizens went out into the streets in protest for political reform against the ruler Bashar Al-Assad. Assad responded to the protests with cruelty and brutality that ended up starting the civil war. The "presidency" has been in his family since his fathers death 11 years ago.
In more recent events, Syria used chemical weapons on its citizens witch has the US president wanting to interfered bomb Syria. The president claims it wont be a repeat of Iraq and Afghanistan. Many US citizens are against interfering with the war in Syria.  I read this Article.
One Choice Defines You
When i saw the book Divergent it didn't look very good and I passed it of as just another book. After a while a couple people started to recommend it and I decided that I would give it a shot and ended up finishing it in 2 1/2 days. It was that good. so for those who have taken the time to read this i highly recommend the book Divergent.Divergent takes place in what seems like the far future and centers around a 16 year-old girl named Beatrice. in her society there are 5 different factions in the one city. the factions have different traits that the embody in their society.
The five factions and their beliefs are Candor the honest, Abnegation the selfless, Dauntless the brave, Amity the peaceful, and Erudite the intelligent. In this society evey sixteen year old of that year takes a test that will determin which faction they are best suited for and once you choose the faction you under go initiation and become a member of the faction. This book is about choice and how the choces a person makes can define them and who they are. when Beatrice chooses to leave her factioon and home for a new one it is  a choice that shapes who she will become.
